Jumpin the Sharkey

Remember this model US Citizen?
MORA, Minn. - A fringe candidate for governor who played up his satanic side- and pledged public impalement for terrorists- wound up behind bars Tuesday thanks to a sharp-eyed sheriff's dispatcher.

Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey, 41, of Princeton was arrested Monday night on two felony counts from Indiana, said Mike Smith, the Mille Lacs County jail administrator. One warrant was for escape, another for stalking.

Sharkey launched his campaign last month under the banner of the Vampyres, Witches and Pagans party. His platform includes an emphasis on education, tax breaks for farmers and better benefits for veterans, but he also said he favored impaling certain wrongdoers in front of the State Capitol.
I wonder if he's willing to face the same punishment that he was willing to dish out?

Crash and Burn

You would think I would have heard the *THUD*

I grew suspicious of how quiet the house became
and turned around and saw the lil guy just lying there!

With 4 year old idealism he would see that drop and think, piece of cake.
I guess he misjudged the distance to the couch.

Don't worry folks, he'll bounce back.
Between my wife and I, the kid has one hell of a hard noggin.

As soon as dinner starts cooking and the aroma hits the sinuses
he'll be up moaning I'm hung-wee

1. Notice the plastic spiderman belt broken on the floor
and the cape clutched in his hands...

...apparently these both malfunctioned and a lawsuit is being drawn up
against the manufacturers of these items along with a documented history
of repeated failures.

Tha Wease apparently has a nice future as a Products Tester for a defense contractor lining up for him.

A SOTU Fo'U

Ever wonder what a liberal hears when President Bush gives a State of the Union address? Well, here ya go! I laughed my self silly when I saw it.

Hooah Wife wonders what the point is anymore...
You'd think that with a President addressing a joint session of Congress before a nationally televised audience that this would be the stuff of high drama, but in reality it has become a carefully choreographed performance complete with predictable applause and symbolic guest who underscore the President's message. This is not a criticism of President Bush, but rather an observation on a political ritual that seems to have become meaningless. Political junkie that I am - I'll probably still watch it, though.
Yeah me too... but not without a few laughs at the 'I'm crapping my pants' looks that are sure to be on the faces of blowhards like Kennedy, Kerry, Clinton, Schumer, Feinstein, and of course Reid.

Conservababes are going to be all over it, although through forced sobriety...
The Sage and I will be "live-blogging" the SOTU tonight - and I'm sure the Sage will ask me to subject myself to the dem's "response", too. Being pregnant and all, I can't drink myself into a nice, pleasant haze through which to watch it, either.
That's gonna leave a mark.

There is always that reason we watch car races, for the wrecks. You never know whether or not Kennedy's lid is going to finally blow as he gyrates uncontrollably in his seat while the DT's creep in, whether the staples holding Pelosi's face on suddenly give way revealing her true identity, or if the Prez is going to turn into a stammering mess as he attempts to lay out his strat-eeeeg-ery.

I sure wish there was a cam on Algore's cell in the insane asylum so we can watch him turn every possible shade of purple.

It's always fun to see moonbatty anxiousness before the speech too...
Cue that beautiful bean footage:
as for myself - i won't listen to lies. i have refused to listen to any of king george's speeches, and i'm not going to start now. he doesn't write them himself and he can't even read them without stumbling. the b.s. he spouts is just intolerable. within seconds i will be screaming at the television, if not hurling projectiles at it.

no, i'm sure i can find a good movie.
I think Brokeback Mountain is still in the theaters.

You can't pay me enough to go see the insanity that's being written at the Kos right about now... At least they're allowing the whackos in Algore's insane asylum access to the internet... keeps 'em busy.

Harry Reid Stepping Down?

Harry Reid has decided to take my advice and may actually be contemplating going home to Searchlight to mine for some dignity.

Imagine if he found some? Whoa, he'd be rich!

Biden Silent on Reid Stepping Down
By: Nick Danger · Section: News

Senator Joseph Biden (D-DE) failed today to address rumors that Nevada Senator Harry Reid will step down next month as Senate Minority Leader. Reid has been stung by revelations that his political action committee (PAC) accepted more than $60,000 in contributions from Indian tribes linked to convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Appearing on CNN's Late Edition, Biden avoided discussing either the Reid situation or any upcoming changes in Senate Democratic leadership.

Reid is no stranger to scandal, having been the subject of a 1979 Justice Department probe into allegations that Reid - then Nevada Gaming Commission chairman - had received bribes through mob lawyer Oscar Goodman and Tropicana attorney Jay H. Brown. The probe officially cleared Reid, but he subsequently received numerous contributions from gambling industry figures, including Brown.

Some Democrats are worried that Reid's continued presence in the Senate leadership undermines Democratic hopes of scoring significant gains this November.

Earlier this month, Reid described Oscar Goodman - now Mayor of Las Vegas - as "a real vote-getter" who would be "a very, very strong candidate" if he entered the race for the Senate seat held by Republican John Ensign. "I'm happy to give him any advice or counsel that he needs or wants," Reid told the Las Vegas Sun. "I've known him for many, many years and will have to wait and see what he decides to do." Before becoming mayor in 1999, Goodman was a defense attorney whose mob clients included Anthony "Tony the Ant" Spilotro.

"Reid is going around the country talking about a 'Republican scandal' - about Republicans accepting one- and two-thousand dollar contributions from Jack Abramoff, when his own PAC took in $60,000," said one Republican strategist. "If this is what the Democrats call a 'Culture of Corruption,' it ought to be an interesting discussion."

Some Democrats are also upset that Reid capitulated on President Bush's nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. "Everyone knows there are not enough votes to support a filibuster," Reid told reporters, even as Senator John Kerry (D-MA) and others worked to drum up support for such an effort. Reid later stated he would support a filibuster, but only as a sort of protest vote. "I think it is an opportunity for people to express their opinion as to what a bad choice (Alito) was," Reid said.

Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, appearing on Fox News Sunday, made no announcements concerning Reid's status, but did comment on the growing controversy.

Moderator Chris Wallace asked Dean, "if we find that there were some Democrats who wrote letters on behalf of some of the Indian tribes that Abramoff represented, then what do you say, sir?"

Without mentioning Reid by name, Dean replied, "That's a big problem. And those Democrats are in trouble. And they should be in trouble."
Buwaaahahahahh

Some commenters believe that this is a trick...
It'll be fun to see... especially if it isn't!

Don't worry Dems... Howard Dean to the rescue!!

Chrys saw this coming with her casual observation...

I also saw this video there too on a much lighter yet just as personal note. If you don't relate to this yet... well, you will soon.

La Visage de Francais...

Last May, she had a wide, tilted nose, a prominent chin and thin lips. Today, the donated face of suicide Maryline Saint-Aubert has given her a straight and narrow nose, a neater chin and a fuller mouth.
Hmmm... some things may be better left unsaid...

That quote from the story I saw this on Drudge and love how they coupled this photo with the story... classy.

But the article is full of tragically funny quotes from these nutty French surgeons.
Another of her surgeons, Bernard Devauchelle, said:
"She certainly does not look like the living dead. She's eating and drinking without dribbling."
Apparently we're making progress!
Especially when considering her previous lifestyle...
Dr Devauchelle and his colleagues faced ethical questions about the transplant. The fact that Miss Dinoire had attempted to commit suicide led critics to ask if she was psychologically robust enough to adapt to life with someone else's face.

As a single parent, she had struggled to cope with her daughters and, according to friends, spent most of her time chain-smoking in front of a TV.
Now she's a genuine French phenomenon
...like that Gérard Depardieu dude...

Yikes, nevermind.

Sunday Jammin

I feel like jammin...

One of my favorite artists Jack Johnson is doing the soundtrack for the Curious George movie coming out.

I was a huge fan of the Curious George books as a kid and remember that series of books being among the first to be checked out of my local library when I was a wee lad in my small upstate NY town.

The anticipation of seeing if a new installment of Curious George was available to check out for a week was my weekend thrill...

...but I digress...

Let us jam cuz it's Sunday and I'm dreaming of Hawaii again and JJ's tunes always take me back.

Hit up this link and click on the View Bonus Videos link at the bottom of the page and check out the new song...

I love the deliciously fattening Hawaii flavor...

The Mary Hunter sends me When Jesus Returns, Boy Oh Boy...
Suing a Roman Catholic priest over Jesus? I find it both brilliant and absurd that such a lawsuit could actually take place in a western democracy.
and then he sends a heartfelt plea to the Democratic leadership: Please Democrats, Please Filibuster!
These narcissistic elites clearly choose to thwart the will of the people, by obstructing this honorable, over-qualified man, out of sheer desperation.

No Veto for Alito

The Democrats threat of a filibuster of Alito is like a mosquito sucking the blood from a burrito.

I think I better stick to ranting rather than rhyming...

Anyway... here are some tidbits of the Democrats pathetic "leaders"...
Who are absolutely leading their party to extinction, or at least cornering the market on the ignoramous vote.

Hillary Clinton:
"History will show that Judge Alito’s nomination is the tipping point against constitutionally-based freedoms and protections we cherish as individuals and as a nation. He would roll back decades of progress, and roll over when confronted with an administration too willing to play fast and loose with the rules."
Fast and Loose eh? Sounds like an administration she's extremely familiar with...

John F'ing Kerry:
"The critical question here is why are we so compelled to accept, in such a rush, a nominee who has so clearly been chosen for political and ideological reasons"
Lurch, there is nothing with you that can be considered 'done in a rush'. McClellan got him pretty good with this swipe:
"This was the first time ever that a senator has called for a filibuster from the slopes of Davos, Switzerland," McClellan said at his daily briefing for reporters. "I think even for a senator, it takes some pretty serious yodeling to call for a filibuster from a five-star ski resort in the Swiss Alps."
That's my dawg...

Meanwhile my illustrious Senator here in Nevada, 'dirty' Harry Reid, sees the impotence of his party's power:
"Everyone knows there is not enough votes to support a filibuster," Reid said, referring to the procedural roadblock that some Democrats said should be used to put off a vote on Alito.

The Nevada Democrat said, however, he would vote for such a measure to at least send a message of opposition to the nominee.
Doing what you do best... whine and obstruct... When are you going to do something productive Fairy Reid? Perhaps when you lose your job ala Tom Daschle, you can mine for some dignity down in Searchlight NV...

Then we have leather-face Nancy Pelosi, leader of the democrats in Congress with this intellectual gem:
"At a time when the President is unilaterally asserting expansive and unprecedented powers to conduct domestic surveillance and when the federal government is encroaching on the privacy rights of the American people as never before, Judge Alito's documented record of excessive deference to the President's power is a risk we cannot take."
First of all, you'll be the first to scream "Why didn't you connect the dots" should there God forbid be another attack within our borders, assuming your face doesn't pop off of your skull by then...

Second, the absolute lack of historical perspective this woman exhibits in her asanine statement is just what the democrats need to lead their lemmings in the House of Representatives...

Witness people, the slow death of a political party...

Caution: Smoking or Voting in Palestinian Parliamentary Elections may be hazardous to your health.

Perhaps Sharon wasn't such a wuss after all when he pulled Jewish Israelis out of the Gaza Strip this summer.

With Hamas and Fatah now knocking each other off there should be less to bulldoze this coming summer.

There seems to be no where near the same 'national unity' among the Palistinians that Saddam had in Iraq during his 'elections'- when he would win 100% of the votes...

Am I Supposed to be Scared?

This is an open letter to Osama been-Hiding...

Yeah yeah yeah, Osama is out and speaking via soundbite over Aljazeera airwaves... how brave.

Oh, but if we just let bygones be bygones he'll come out of his cave and re-build Afghanistan and Iraq for us... besides we don't want our troops there; so his sources say...

I have a feeling that the batteries must be getting low on the ole dialysis machine...

Getting the kidneys flushed using a 200 mile train of extension cords- (an idea realized from a Miller Lite commercial Osama happen to wiggle the bunny ears enough to catch during the NFL playoff games last weekend from his cave) -must be a pain in the rear, or close to it I guess...
Funny how just when there was a fair amount of speculation that Osama bin Laden might no longer be among the living (he hadn’t been heard from in more than a year), an audiotape lands on the doorstep of Al-Jazeera TV.

Just imagine, the man responsible for the deaths of 3,000 human beings on American soil is proposing his own Marshall Plan for two nations now just beginning to taste the sweet fruit of democracy. How the women of Kabul must miss those stonings and the soccer field beheadings. Ah, for a return to the good old days when bin Laden engaged in a mutual aid program with the Taliban.
Despite the fact that our Security Agencies are under attack from the Enemy Within, I think Osama is realizing the futility of his situation.

Unless of course this is all staged!
Naaa, Osama's henchmen are being sniffed out.

You know what? Screw Osama, I'm heading down to the Strip tomorrow afternoon. During the afternoon I'm taking the kiddies to The Orleans for an enjoyable time watching "Nemo on Ice" where my five kids, from ages 7 to 3 are going to have a blast watching big foam costumes gliding along the ice...

and if there's a good bail or two reminiscent of "Skating with Celebrities", I'll definitely enjoy the show...

Following that extravaganza on Ice, the wife and I and two other friends are going to see one of my favorite bands, G Love and Special Sauce. A Philly Favorite playing tonight at the House of Blues...

From one of my favorite G Love songs...
When We Meet Again
Springtime is here, and the wind from the south
Blows strong and warm to clean out your house
The sun has arisen and the lies that were told are
Driven outside with the freezing cold
I can remember a spring just like this
I was 19 yrs. old
Now the time is sorely missed
The first year that I left my mother's house
Out to make my way in this world somehow

I can't believe how the times they have changed
All the dreams that came true still seem so far away
I remember the days sittin' on the front porch
With the sun beatin' down in my neighborhood

I'd sit out all night singin' songs to the moon
Or try and get some sweet honey back to my bedroom

My friends they were few but to me they were true
All we was trying to do was just to make it through
Always thought for the future, but we shouldn't have cared
All the best things in life we shared them right there

So to all those old friends God be with them
I wish, I wish I could see you again
In the same corner bar where it all started from
Dig your plow so deep now the stars have all gone
So wherever they shine may it be warm and bright
Out to ease my mind on this worried night
It all seems so simple and good tidings I send
I'll never forget that one year that we spent
Osama, you don't scare me.

And in this Corn-ahh, Weighin in at...

It's the Championship bout y'all, the ACLU vs the people of America...

UPDATE: From Stop the ACLU
So you want to get involved with us as an intervening party against the ACLU in their case challenging the NSA? Here is what to do.

Email Debbie Schlussel with the following information. Via Debbie Schlussel’s site:

I will need everyone’s complete name and contact info (full name, phone number, e-mail address, complete U.S. snailmail address–you must be a U.S. citizen). If you have e-mailed me regarding this, I will respond via e-mail to you over the weekend and into next week, with an affidavit to sign (with notarized signature) and a brief agreement saying you agree to have me represent you in court for this matter and that I will not charge you any fees.

Debbie has agreed to do this service for America completely free, however the filing fee for the affidavit will be $250.00, and there will be other fees. I think we should take up a donation for her, and this worthy cause. Surely, we can come up with at least $250.00 for this noble cause. I will update this post as the donations come in until we reach the goal. I think we could give her a little extra over the $250.00 just for doing this. Don’t you think it is worth it?
Remember all the blowhards who had a soapbox screaming that Bush didn't 'connect the dots' that lead to the disaster on September 11th? Well, the same schmucks are now attempting to take his dot connecting pencil away...

A monkey realizes that surveilance is necessary to connect these dots that will lead to the next domestic terrorist attack here in America, yet the ACLU finds it in the best interest of Americans to sue those working to keep us safe from those who want to cause death and mayhem within our borders.

Remember Able Danger anyone??

Enough is enough...

Michelle Malkin:
Debbie Schlussel, blogger/investigative writer/lawyer, is extending an invitation to citizens interested in intervening in the ACLU's NSA lawsuit. She practices in Eastern Michigan, where the suit was filed.
Debbie Schlussel
You've no doubt heard that, today, the ACLU--and assorted other enemies of America--filed a lawsuit against the government for NSA "spying" (interesting that there was no such lawsuit when Bill Clinton was doing the same thing--Remember "Echelon" and "Carnivore"?).
Stop the ACLU:
The ACLU and CAIR are suing the NSA over this wiretap thing, but they’re not the only ones. I’m here to give you a little info about one of the people behind an anti-NSA lawsuit.
See other stories on this at Stop the ACLU Here and Here as well.

A Pro-Lifer's thoughts on Assisted Suicide

Those with common sense know when life begins... but when does life end?

Anyone who's read my site long enough knows how vehemently Pro-Life I am. There's no doubt in my mind that life is a precious gift given to us by a Heavenly Father and Mother to allow us the physical experience in our progression throughout eternity, with the purpose of exposing us to pleasure, pain, gain, and loss in order to steel our Spirits as ore is strengthened in the fire.

Even those children conceived under extraordinary circumstances are children to be nurtured and cared for so that they too have this opportunity to live, love, laugh, and cry... To what end is not up to us individually, each life is precious and distinctively their own to be experienced for only their purposes, purposes that cannot be fully understood by mortal minds... but only understood by the application of faith.

This being said, I have been reading about the Supreme Court's 6-3 decision determining that a federal drug law does not override the 1997 Oregon law used to end the lives of more than 200 seriously ill people. When put against the backdrop of the Terri Schiavo disaster that occurred last year, I don't think I disagree with the court's decision.

Not to say that Terri should have had her feeding tube removed!! That was a separate case but one that deals with the 'when does life end' question nonetheless. A question that has been on our minds a lot lately.

Is the Pro-Life stance the same when considering the end of a life as it is when considering the abortion of a fetus? (read: 'The Killing of a Baby') One would assume so...

But with much discussion between my wife and I over the last year about whether or not to be kept alive when terminally ill and in severe pain, I no longer think so. We both decided that we would not like extraordinary support to stay living in that condition. And while we both expressed desires to just have bullets put in our head instead, I don't think that's legal. It is also probably a function of extreme selfishness as well, as is suicide itself- the ultimate in selfishness...

However, with the advancements in medical technology and medicine's ability to keep someone alive long after they're essentially dead, I cannot think of a more disturbing prospect than to be kept alive when there is no hope of experiencing life as I know it now.

Along those same lines, the slippery slope argument comes into effect as the 'when does life end' argument gains momentum in one direction or the other with the possibility of moving beyond a morally acceptable limit.

It's a very touchy and personal situation and one that needs to be dealt with in very specific and legal terms when drawing up papers to deal with how you want the end of your life situation handled. If you have specific and legal documents outlining your intentions beforehand, I do not see the problem with assisted suicide for the terminally ill who are experiencing extreme suffering.

If the Supreme Court is going to sit there and defend a woman's right to choose whether or not a child is going to grow to experience life in her body, at least they're being consistent with this decision on assisted suicide; as if that's any justification!

In the interest of expanding my own perception on this issue, I'd like to know what you think.

Adam over at Adam's Blog weighed in on this post:
What we're talking about in physician assisted suicide is actively working to destroy life that has become hard, difficult, or painful. While Peakah doesn't see the problem with allowing Assisted Suicide for the Terminally Ill, I do. It puts doctors in the position of a killers instead of healers. It destroys that idea, that most sacred charge of the physican, "First, do no harm."

As a matter of principle, it further ensconces a Culture of Death, where somehow we can decide what innocent life can be destroyed. When you think about our national first principles in the Declaration of Independence, the word inalienable is a synonym for unforfeitable. That means we can't rightly decide to actively kill ourselves or encourage others to do so.
Go there and read the rest of his well thought out arguement which I found myself agreeing with yet sticking to my guns at the same time...

Callin Out the Single Fellas

Alright studs, time to bust out the fancy threads and for crying out loud, comb your hair for once! Just because your a blogger doesn't mean we don't know you type with perpetual bedhead...

I at least blog with my straw hat on!

Pamela of Atlas Shrugs has put out the call for a date to Blogging Man 2007! (I'm off of the market Pam but I can rally the fellas for ya)

If coming out to Reno to chill with us Nevadans wasn't reason enough to attend the ultimate in blogging conventions, you now have a much much better reason!

CHECK THIS OUT! The Lefty Spin Begins!
I knew this was going to happen. In fact, I’ve set up a few scripts that help me watch technorati tags and a few other good blog watching resources for this very reason.

As most of you know, we’ve gone 100% public with Blogging Man 2007 as of last Monday. With this launch comes attention and lot’s of it. Some good, some bad, some downright ugly.

In the last 24 hours we’ve seen a bit of all 3.
Oh and while Lynn (The GunnNutt) is calling me out, thinking I'm scared to field questions in my interview at Basil's Blog, gimme all you got, I can take it... Just make sure you ask her more embarassing and revealing questions than you ask me!

Jill Carroll Kidnapped

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- An American journalist's kidnappers threatened to kill her unless the United States releases all female Iraqi prisoners within 72 hours, the Arabic-language TV network Al-Jazeera said after it aired a video showing her Tuesday.
Euphoricreality put it best:
Is anyone asking the question I’m thinking? Why would these animals give a rat’s rectum about female prisoners? Are they suddenly concerned with how women are treated? I doubt it. It’s probably just that they’re sick of getting their fellatio from each other.
My bud Michael Fitch wrote:
On a side note, I would like to say that I am as proud as a father on his daughter's wedding day to finally be recognized as a propagandist. It brings a tear of joy to my eyes.

As opposed, of course, to Al-Jazeera, which would not disclose their source of the video. Perhaps if Al-Jazeera actually, you know, CARED about their fellow humans, they would keep track of that sort of thing, and provide information for a rescue operation.

A logo on the corner of a still photo of the video read, "The Revenge Brigade." According to AP, "The group was not known from previous claims of responsibility of violence in Iraq."

You don't say. Does it ever occur to these idiots that they just make up new names for themselves as they go along, to leave the impression that there are more and more terrorist groups everyday? Did anyone ever notice that some new unheard of group remains unheard of afterward and a "new" group with a new name shows up? Just an observation.
...and a good one at that... Have you ever heard of "Brigades of Vengeance." Me neither...

Mental Mayhem expresses how she feels when she saw the video:
I just finished watching the heart-wrenching video on Aljazeera. My dear Jill looked extremely tired but somehow better than I expected. She looked like she hadn't been sleeping. I'm going crazy here but still praying and hoping for her quick release. I'm hoping that the kidnappers still have some mercy left them so they can release this innocent young woman, who is but a pawn in the current political mayhem.
We all are Natasha... we all are.

So Be It!

We all get those emails from 'friends' and family all year long like those I spoke of a few weeks ago...

This one however, is worth posting...
Enjoy!

So Be It!

THE LAW IS THE LAW
So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it.

And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart.

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?

Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God, and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.

I'd like MY mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the "U.S. Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving, Easter as well as Sundays." After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all, it's just another day.

I'm thinking that a lot of MY taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday, and Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct."

In fact....

I think that OUR government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, OUR government says that it should be just another day.

What do you all think????

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe OUR elected officials will stop giving in to the "minority opinions" and begin, once again, to represent the "MAJORITY" of ALL of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.

SO BE IT...

Does this 'woman' really think she has a shot to be the President of the United States of America????

Before you answer that... Please watch the video at this Link...

Wow, is 2008 going to be a FUN year to blog!!

From the NY Daily News
Ever since being elected to the Senate, New York's junior senator has strived to persuade moderate and independent voters she's not just another Hollywood lefty.

But her likening of House Republican leaders to slave-era plantation overseers at least momentarily complicates her move-to-the-middle blueprint.

"The use of the word 'plantation' is terribly unwise," said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia's Center for Politics. "It will just reinforce the view most Americans have of Hillary Clinton as being very liberal."

It could have been worse, Sabato added: "At least she didn't mention Hitler."
We still have time Larry... it will happen, she can't help herself...

#3 Huskies vs #20 Orangemen

I've been looking forward to this game all season long.

Hall of Famer Jim Boeheim vs Hall of Famer Jim Calhoun!

It's Gerry McNamara time baby... droppin them threes!!

The only remaining senior and former team member of Carmello Anthony when Syracuse won the Championship over Kansas 3 years ago he is a ton of fun to watch slash all over the court dropping awkward three pointers all over the place!

GO ORANGEMEN!!!!
(no overtime please, 24 starts at 8pm)

UPDATE: (6:30pm) Arrrrrgggghhhh Kansas vs Mizzou is in overtime cutting into my game!!!

UPDATE: (7:00pm) OMG, as soon as the game goes national (and my blood pressure drops) SU was down by 4... UConn proceeds to go on a 19-0 run... (blood pressure rises to previous levels)

...SU goes into halftime down by 20 (with 12 turnovers!!)
This is a nightmare! Why do I do this to myself??

UPDATE: (7:50pm) down 17 with 8 minutes to go... I don't think I have to worry about overtime tonight...

UPDATE: (8pm) SU has got the deficit down to 10 points with just over 3 minutes to go...

UPDATE: SU loses by 8 but never had a chance.

G Mac only hit 2 of 8 three pointers as UConn dominated defensively as they shut him down.

UConn played flawless basketball and Syracuse got a good spanking. After SU won 12 in a row, a game like this was bound to happen. It will only help them as they prepare to play an awesome Villanova team on the 21st.

Hey, it was either blog about it, getting energy out through the ole fingertips, or yell and scream at my TV.

Now it's time to watch Jack Bauer save America and make me feel better after that heartbreak.

A Day in Honor of a Great American

(picture above takes you to MLK's website)

While I may have issues with the fact that we have a day in the name of Martin Luther King Jr, yet we no longer recognize George Washington or Abraham Lincoln by name in the form of National Holidays,

(whom without which MLK would have never have had a podium to stand on)

...or that MLK's surviving family has made a business by demanding outrageous royalties for use of any of their slain relative's words...

...or the fact that con artists such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton portray themselves as modern torch bearers of this man whose shoes they are unworthy to shine...

There is no denying the tremendous impact made on the American culture by this great Man.

As celebrations occur across the country, this is a time to be thankful for the progress we've made in the name of Martin Luther King Jr's bold and beautiful words:
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal." I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.

Mayor Nagin of New Orleans claims in his MLK Day speech that New Orleans is a 'Chocolate City'... uhhh... sounds delicious. From Dallas News:
"New Orleans is a chocolate city, but most African-Americans don't participate economically in a meaningful way," the mayor responded. "There is an element in the city that would like to see what used to be. Some of it's racial, but most of it's economic."

Strokin the Galloway

From the wingnut who Aljazeera considers a heroic revolutionary...

From the left-wing loony toon who goes to Syria to tell 'the World'
No American soldier who leaves his barracks can be sure that he will come back alive.

Every Iraqi, every roadside, every car is a potential deadly ending for him. And the American army... The American army is losing the will to fight.

So America is losing the war in Iraq and she cannot dream of starting a new war in Syria. The second reason is: The public opinion in Britain and America is moving decisively against the policy of Bush and Blair.
We get this...

From the GuardianUK:
He purred and mewed, his greying whiskers giving his face the appearance of a Cheshire cat. Next, George Galloway, the Respect MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, and scourge of Capitol Hill, got on all fours and pretended to lick milk from the cupped hands of the once-famous television actor Rula Lenska. She rubbed the "cream" from his "whiskers" and stroked his head and behind his ears.
When he steps out into the real world, Mr Galloway may regret his decision to accept the producer's challenge to mimic a pet on live television last night. He may feel his flirtation with a reality TV youth audience was not worth the loss of credibility that many of his critics claimed yesterday was an inevitable consequence.

The firebrand parliamentarian earned the grudging respect of even his political enemies through his performance before the US Congress last year. But yesterday viewers only saw rolling footage of the cat performance. Commentators called it excruciating and his own supporters said it was an indignity.
'indignity' would imply that there was any dignity to begin with...

Must be nice to be a politician with no responsibilities...
none except to create as much sedition as humanly possible.

Wouldn't want to upset that gravy train would ya georgy-boy?

Stardust Mission Landing

(Photo above takes you to Stardust's Mission updates)

NASA's Comet Tale Draws to a Successful Close in Utah Desert
NASA's Stardust sample return mission returned safely to Earth when the capsule carrying cometary and interstellar particles successfully touched down at 2:10 a.m. Pacific time (3:10 a.m. Mountain time) in the desert salt flats of the U.S. Air Force Utah Test and Training Range.

"Ten years of planning and seven years of flight operations were realized early this morning when we successfully picked up our return capsule off of the desert floor in Utah," said Tom Duxbury, Stardust project manager at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. "The Stardust project has delivered to the international science community material that has been unaltered since the formation of our solar system."

"I have been waiting for this day since the early 1980s when Deputy Principal Investigator Dr. Peter Tsou of JPL and I designed a mission to collect comet dust," said Dr. Don Brownlee, Stardust principal investigator from the University of Washington, Seattle. "To see the capsule safely back on its home planet is a thrilling accomplishment."

The sample return capsule's science canister and its cargo of comet and interstellar dust particles will be stowed inside a special aluminum carrying case to await transfer to the Johnson Space Center, Houston, where it will be opened. NASA's Stardust mission traveled 2.88 billion miles during its seven-year round-trip odyssey. Scientists believe these precious samples will help provide answers to fundamental questions about comets and the origins of the solar system.
See an awesome flash presentation of the capsule's return HERE.

I've always been told that I have my head in the clouds-- thus my fascination with space missions.

This one is really cool...

Build a spaceship, launch a capsule at a comet so hard that it creates football stadium sized hole in it, schnag some dust and bring'er home... even if it does tick off some nutty russian astrologers... schweetness!

In the interest of quicker loading time I had to change my template around some. No offense Jaden, I loved the Irish Bar theme it was just that it took so darn long to load that it became impractical.

So there is just a wee bit o'toning it down for now.

With the BloggingMan 2007 event coming up, and a decent number of people visiting me each day, it seems like the right thing to do.

Let me know what you think...

Zawahiri Wuz Not Here-ee

UPDATE: Pakistan Condemns Purported CIA Airstrike
DAMADOLA, Pakistan Jan 14, 2006- Pakistan on Saturday condemned a purported CIA airstrike on a border village that officials said unsuccessfully targeted al-Qaida's second-in-command, and said it was protesting to the U.S. Embassy over the attack that killed at least 17 people.

Thousands of local tribesmen, chanting "God is Great," demonstrated against the attack, claiming the victims were local villagers without terrorist links and had never hosted Ayman al-Zawahri.

Two senior Pakistani officials told The Associated Press that the CIA acted on incorrect information in launching the attack early Friday in the northwestern village of Damadola, near the Afghan border...

...Washington had no comment on the reports that the attack was aimed at al-Zawahri, who has a $25 million U.S. government bounty on his head. Like bin Laden, he is believed to have been hiding along the rugged Pakistan-Afghan frontier since the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Pakistan says it does not allow Afghan or the 20,000 U.S. forces in Afghanistan to cross the border in pursuit of Taliban and al-Qaida believed to be hiding there. The war on terror is opposed by many in this Islamic nation of 150 million people.

Pakistan's information minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, called the "incident" in Damadola "highly condemnable."
Unfortunately this morning I awoke to the news that al-Zawahri may not be dead after all... the zit lives... but only after a village suspected of harboring him and his associates was leveled.

Thanks to RightWinged for the alert that "the number two wasn't successfully flushed."

From Yahoo News:
DAMADOLA, Pakistan - Al-Qaida's second-in-command was the target of a U.S. airstrike near the Afghan border but he was not at the site of the attack, two senior Pakistani officials said Saturday. At least 17 people were killed.

Citing unnamed American intelligence officials, U.S. networks reported that a CIA-operated Predator drone aircraft carried out the missile strike in the Bajur tribal region of northwestern Pakistan.

The two Pakistani officials told The Associated Press on Saturday that the CIA had acted on incorrect information, and Ayman al-Zawahri was not in the village of Damadola when it came under attack. Al-Zawahri is ranked No. 2 in the al-Qaida terror network, second only to Osama bin Laden.

An AP reporter who visited the scene in Damadola village about 12 hours later saw three destroyed houses hundreds of yards apart. Villagers recounted hearing aircraft overhead moments before the attack. By their count at least 30 people died, including women and children.

There was no confirmation from either Islamabad or Washington on the reports that al-Zawahri had been targeted, but a Pakistani intelligence official said that the CIA had told Pakistani agents that they had targeted al-Zawahri in the attack.
This is likely to strain an already tenuous relationship with Pakistan.

It looks as if it was not all for naught, via Captain's Quarters:
But Pakistani officials tell ABC News that five of those killed were high-level al Qaeda figures, and their bodies are now undergoing forensic tests for positive identification.

Zawahiri Dead from Lead Poisioning?

Either that or the zit on his forehead ruptured and he choked on the puss...

From ABC News:
Jan. 13, 2006- Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high-level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.

U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might have been in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

The attack took place early this morning Pakistan time in a small village a few miles from the border with Afghanistan.

Villagers described seeing an unmanned plane circling the area for the last few days and then bombs falling in the early morning darkness.

Eighteen people were killed, according to the villagers who said women and children were among the fatalities.

But Pakistani officials tell ABC News that five of those killed were high-level al Qaeda figures, and their bodies are now undergoing forensic tests for positive identification.

Officials say Zawahiri was known to have used safe houses in this area last winter and was believed to be in the area again this winter.

Zawahiri, who appeared just last week in a new videotaped message, had increasingly been taking the operational reins of al Qaeda, and is thought by U.S. officials to be the current true mastermind of the terrorist group.

Pakistani officials tell ABC News that the bodies of the five suspected al Qaeda figures will be recovered at first light in Pakistan, but it will still take a day or two for any kind of positive identification. U.S. officials in Washington did not comment.
Jay at Stop the ACLU agrees with the ridiculousness of that man's forehead zit.

See also Michelle Malkin, The Counterterrorism Blog, and an excellent roundup at the Jawa Report

Aljazeera deems Zawahiri, "Victim" ...poor poor baby!

Allah even chimes in on this story... with beaucoup updates...

A witness for the NY Times adds:
"I was awakened from deep slumber by the noise of the drone and then, together with thousands others who too had been woken up by the plane's noise, saw jets targeting the area," he said. "One plane circled the area and dropped illuminating flares and the other planes fired missiles. There were loud explosions."

He said the planes' targets were three houses, all belonging to jewelry dealers. "The houses have been razed to the ground," said Mr. Rashid, who said he had visited the scene. "There is nothing left. Pieces of the missiles are scattered all around. The impact of the explosions have been huge. Everything has been blackened in a 100-meter radius."

"The Impaler" for Prez

The Man over at GOP and the City posted this today and I immediately thought that Fmragtops was running for Governor of Minnesota!
Any Terrorist who is caught in Minnesota while I am Governor, will find out what the true meaning of my nickname 'The Impaler' means. Right in front of our State Capital. Then Fed's can take the terrorist's body from the impaling stake. If the US Department of Justice (DOJ)wants to charge me with brutally murdering a terrorist, they may do so. I do not see an American Jury convicting me.
At first glance this guy seems pretty cool! But then you go to his website and wonder how many times his mom dropped him on his head as an infant.

Jonathon Sharkey, also known as "The Impaler", plans to launch his gubernatorial campaign... on Friday the 13th of course.

He vows not to hide his evil side as other candidates surely will...
During my time as Governor, drug dealers and users will live in fear. I will introduce extremely harsh punishment for those who not only use illegal drugs, I will fight to make dealers serve life in prison, or better yet, Impalement.
Perhaps this guy could benefit from some relaxation medication! Or at least a phat doobie or two...

Dude has quite the life story...
My mother was a practicing Hecate Witch, and my father's bloodline is from Transylvanian Vampyres. They divorced when I was 4. My father shortly re-married this lady named Lee. They had a daughter, my half-sister shortly after their
marriage...

...In August 1988, while visiting a relative, I met a girl who was totally taken by me and who I was. She was hott and sexy, so I drove her home that night on my bike, and slept with her. Though I do not regret sleeping with her, in 1996 I found that she was my half-sister who I hadn't seen since 1970. Talk about letting your ego get the best of you!
**shudder** Now that's down right creepy!

This guy bears his (lack of) soul on his websites and proudly proclaims his love for Satan, who he maintains, is misunderstood...
Uhhh right...
I am a Satanic Dark Priest, Sanguinarian Vampyre and a Hecate Witch. My Magikal Path name is: Lord Ares.

I despise and hate the Christian God the Father. He is my enemy.
Now that's sure to get Jesse Ventura's vote...

He has already declared his candidacy for the Presidency in 2008! Hey, we can see one witch vs. another...

Someone may want to run some tests on the water in the Land of 10,000 Lakes!

Dude, how about using those oh so scary swords and trim the weeds around your house...

If you happen to think of some questions for "The Impaler", you can do so here... just don't piss him off, you'll wind up on the wrong end of a stick.

Who Exactly is the Enemy Here?

600 Listen to Critic of Iraq War
In an emotional two-hour public forum in Arlington last night on the Iraq war, one of the Bush administration's chief critics, Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.), renewed his call for an immediate pullout, saying, "We've become the enemy."
How much longer do our brave troops have to put up with this crap? This following Murtha's asanine statements discouraging people from joining our armed forces last week... unbelievable...

Sgt. Mark Seavey had no problem standing up against this seditious freak of nature. (As seen on Michelle Malkin's site back on the 7th)
Sgt. Mark Seavey to Murtha and Moran: "I don't know who you two are talking to but the morale of the troops is very high."
The Political Teen also has the video.
Greyhawk at The Mudville Gazette has an excellent write-up detailing Murtha's seditious statements over the last several months.

So again I ask... Who Exactly is the Enemy Here??

Trippin to Stone the Devil

345 Dead in Stampede on Last Day of Hajj
MINA, Saudi Arabia Jan 12, 2006- Thousands of Muslim pilgrims rushing to complete a symbolic stoning ritual during the hajj tripped over luggage Thursday, causing a crush in which at least 345 people were killed, the Interior Ministry said.

The stampede occurred as tens of thousands of pilgrims headed toward al-Jamarat, a series of three pillars representing the devil that the faithful pelt with stones to purge themselves of sin.
I guess they're now guilt free to resume a fresh new year of homicide bombings.

Scott Ott at ScrappleFace advises not to wager against the Devil:
Oddsmakers in Las Vegas warn customers never to wager against the Devil in his annual contest versus stone-throwing Muslims during the Hajj (pilgrimage) to Mecca.

This year, not only did the Devil extend his undefeated streak, but he beat the spread that Vegas insiders had pegged at 250 deaths, based on his 2004 performance.

The ceremonial stoning of the Devil is a highlight of the annual pilgrimage, and an economic shot-in-the-arm for the local healthcare and funeral services industries.

An unnamed Saudi cleric, speaking for Allah, the official deity of Islam, defended the Pilgrims' effort despite this year's toll of 345 dead and hundreds injured.

"They put their hearts into it," the Imam said. "But we just didn't execute on the fundamentals- like standing up and staying out from under foot. This game is 90 percent mental, so we'll have to go back to the Koran and work on the basics."

During his annual post-stampede news conference, the Imam brushed aside suggestions that he might forfeit future match-ups with Satan, or attack in smaller groups to reduce accidental trampling. Instead, he searched for a silver lining in the depressing performance.

"If it's any comfort to the families of our deceased Hajj rookies," he said, "at least Muslims are required to make only one trip to Mecca in a lifetime."

5 Days, 2 Hours, 45 minutes, 24 seconds

I've never been one to be hooked on a television show... well, at least since Melrose Place went off of the air...

I wanted to know what all the hubbub was about concerning this '24' show so this past week I went to Blockbuster and rented the entire 4th season of the show. Several calls from Blockbuster later and several pizza deliveries later I now know...

Jack Bauer is the television personification of Clancy's John Clark or Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp... with enough eye candy co-stars to fend off a diabetic's insulin shock.

Thankfully Blogs 4 Bauer has my back in providing all the necessary details (including a to-the-second countdown of Season 5's premier) to keep blood pressure nice and high- clear until Sunday night.

I will probably be much like this guy in my preparation for the premier...

I know I'm jumping on this bandwagon a bit late but hey, I made it right? Time to hit up Ebay to buy the first 3 seasons...

For you 24 aficionados out there, go and vote for "Which character will not live to see the first All-State Commercial during Season 5?"

SEOUL, South Korea - North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has traveled to China on a rare trip outside his country, a South Korean military intelligence official said Tuesday.

The official told The Associated Press he received the information from South Koreans working inside China. The official spoke on condition his name not be used because of the sensitivity of the information.

"We confirmed he went to China," the official said. "We don't know why."
Kim pilots jet fighters, pens operas, produces movies and accomplished a feat unmatched in the annals of professional golf by shooting 11 holes-in-one on the first round he ever played...

Judging by his B-boy Stance and his phat posse, this trip could mean only one thing...

His rare trip to China is most likely to search for these Chinese stars in preparation of his head to head battle with Simon Cowell to challenge for the next American Idol...

He is also in search of the uniquely American wall clock neckchain...

Cruising Through the Weekend

This weekend went by in a blur. The Consumer Electronics Show descended upon the Las Vegas Convention Center this weekend.

-Check out the Technology Evangelist who live blogged each day's happenings and hot new items... kewl stuff...

I was audio blogging my experiences but apparently none of them posted...
(Blogger's Customer Service blows by the way... does anyone know another free audio blog service?)

No, I didn't have an exhibit displaying the most technologically advanced way to ingest Guinness although that may be an idea for a booth for next year, instead I was doing a favor for my cuz...

He gave me a call a couple weeks back and asked me if I would be willing to drive him and his clients from Sirius Satellite Radio and Direct TV around for the weekend from meeting to meeting, hotel to hotel. He knew that waiting in the long taxi lines would waste precious schmoozing time.

He rented me an '05 Chrysler 300 that was FULLY loaded, the luxury model with no shortage of co-hones and proceeded to give all these people my cell phone number. My phone rang off of the hook as I drove with the skills of a professional race car driver around the rubbernecking tourists driving along the Vegas Strip.

I've figured a way to make an asian's eyes much larger-
put them in the back seat of my car.

When I would drop them off and open the door for them they would get out muttering prayers of thankfulness for their survival and then this strange dance would begin...

They would bow, I would bow, they would bow again, I would bow again, again, a bow, again a bow reciprocated... on and on...

Is this like Asian arm wrestling or something? How many times are you supposed to bow? Are there supposed to be an odd number of bows? Is the one who begins this bowing chicken dance supposed to be the one to end it? I wanted to see how long this process would go and I believe I counted at one point over ten bows each... *shrug* I wasn't going to quit without a fight!

I assumed that I was liked because by the end of the weekend, as I was dropping them off at McCarran International Airport, they asked me if I would drive them around every time they were in town! You bet'cha! Talk about easy money!
