Hall Of Famer

For 29 years as Head Coach of the Syracuse Basketball team, Jim Boeheim has been inducted into

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

I grew up in the same small Upstate NY town of Lyons where he was a local hero as well as one of the influences in my decision to go to Syracuse University after High School.

Having been a victim of Upstate NY sports heartbreaks being a Buffalo Bills & Sabres fan, Jim Boeheim had the ability to get us excited for the March Madness season every year. He also was able to attract some of the country's best players to play basketball at a school that is buried in 5 feet of snow for 6 months out of the year. No small task.

His philanthropic work is just as legendary as his 2-3 Zone Defense.

Congrats Jim, you deserve it! See video here...

I Love good stories like this.. It's nice that you know him.. I'll bet that he's the type of person the sets his entire focus right within the moment. (^_^)

If I ever visit the Hall, I better get in for free now, considering all the dinero his teams cost me during March Madness!!!
