We Just Don't Understand
Does this moron think we're to stupid to understand his statement?
From the Washington Post:
"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime _ Pol Pot or others _ that had no concern for human beings," Durbin said Tuesday. Here comes the oxymoronic disclaimer:
On Friday, Durbin tried to clarify the issue. "My statement in the Senate was critical of the policies of this Administration, which add to the risk our soldiers face," he said in a statement released Friday afternoon. "I have learned from my statement that historical parallels can be misused and misunderstood. I sincerely regret if what I said caused anyone to misunderstand my true feelings: Our soldiers around the world and their families at home deserve our respect, admiration and total support."No Senator, the asinine statement you made as a Representative of our Country adds to the risk our soldiers face by embolding our enemy.
Hate to break it to ya Senator, we're smarter than you give us credit for, especially when we call you on your ignorant statements and then you try and blame the intrepreters for 'misunderstanding' you. That is an old trick, blame the ones who call you on your ignorant statement for 'misunderstanding' you.
Clinton isn't in the White House anymore dipwad, apparently his tactics are alive and well.
There's a reason you're called a 'Representative' Senator. You represent us. When you say something that ignorant, lacking historical perspective, we will call you on it. At least have the sack to own up to it.
'Historical parallels can be misued'... yeah, you're a case in point Senator. Those who are paying attention see through you. Don't be upset at us for calling you on it.

Sen. Durbin Apologizes for Gitmo Remarks
Under fire from Republicans and some fellow Democrats, Sen. Dick Durbin apologized Tuesday for comparing American interrogators at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to Nazis and other historically infamous figures.Enough with the tears and crap... he obviously took public speaking courses at the Clintonian Institute of Public Tearjerking.
"Some may believe that my remarks crossed the line," the Illinois Democrat said. "To them I extend my heartfelt apologies."
His voice quaking and tears welling in his eyes, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate also apologized to any soldiers who felt insulted by his remarks.
"They're the best. I never, ever intended any disrespect for them," he said.
Durbin said in his apology: "I made reference to Nazis, to Soviets, and other repressive regimes. Mr. President, I've come to understand that's a very poor choice of words."Wow... what a revelation...
