The Gloves are Coming Off

Pentagon Revises Nuclear Strike Plan
Strategy Includes Preemptive Use Against Banned Weapons
I figured that this would already be status quo but apparently it had to be laid out by the Pentagon as if to remind us that we have the damn things and that we should be prepared to use them if necessary... Duh!

See the official Doctrine for Joint Nuclear Operations (PDF form) here...

Uhh, don't we maintain a stockpile of nukes to threaten psych-wads running rogue nations? Apparently they don't believe we have the will to use them. Perhaps this will make us sound a wee bit more serious about defending our nation.

Not that I believe that they NEED to be used but it sure seems as if there was a reason we kept them around. Sure, they were initially developed because if we didn't the Germans, Japanese, or Soviets would have had them first and surely used them to subdue our nation (a fact a former college history teacher at UNM couldn't grasp in her hazed out hippy brain) But what good are they for defending our nation from nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons if our military is unwilling to use them?

It seems as if the gloves are coming off and Uncle Sam's temper is wearing thin... it's about time if you ask me.
