Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!
In my time at Syracuse University (which has a fairly large population of Irish- particularly Tipperary Hill- home of the famous 'upside down' traffic light)
We typically awoke on St. Patrick's Day bright and early to get into the bars on Marshall St to partake of the Lucky Charms and Green Beer tradition...
-the soaking of lucky charm cereal in green beer for breakfast?? Who the hell thought of that?!?
It typically resulted in the perverbial 'tossing of the cookies' onto whatever midterm they sadistically scheduled for this day each year. It was always the German professor performing this scheduling sac-relig.
This is where my memories of St. Patrick's Day during my college years ends... with the exception of one...
That was the year we painted ourselves green, dyed our hair green, and went to a David Copperfield show at the Landmark Theater after a long day of *ahem* celebration of Ireland's patron Saint.
We just happen to be sitting a few rows back from the front where Claudia Schiffer was seated. We spent more of the show pledging our undying love for Claudia than we did watching Mr. Copperfield... If he was a REAL magician, I'm sure he would have made US disappear!
Witnesses will testify to the fact that the lovely and talented Claudia did manage to turn her head and smile at us at one point... Really! Ok, so she was Laughing at our drunk green butts...
Man this going no where fast...
I'm off to go hang with da boss at Fadó's...
Pionta Guinness, le do thoil!
An bhfuil tú ar meisce fós? (I'll let you figure that one out)
And if you see me you better- Tabhair póg dom, táim Éireannach...
(Kiss me, I'm Irish!)
Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!
(Happy St Patrick's Day to you all!)
Mensa Barbie wonders- When was the last time you opened the Duir?

Oh I almost forgot to Mention!
My wife and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary by going out to an amazing dinner at Hugo's Cellar in the 4 Queens on Freemont St. and then seeing an amazing Irish dance and music group from the Aran Islands- off the west coast of Ireland- called Ragus (rah-goose) at the SunCoast Casino. What an amazing night!! If you love authentic Irish music (and who doesn't??) check out their CD... It's excellent!
It's doesn't get more Gaelic than these lads.

So I hope you don't mind me posting it here.
My favorite non-dirty Irish Gaelic saying:
"Dé cúig bí fadó tusa."
Loose English translation:
"God's love be upon you"
A very happy St. Pat's Day to you Peakah.

Of all days, you pick St. Patrick's Day to proofread anything written on my site? This is the day of the year that my brother in law use the terms "lets go to lunch" when everybody knows that means "lets go to the pub and pound a few" Proof readers take the day off that day... You're secret is safe with me!
