A Great Month of May

My first month at my new job as an Accounts Manager has been extremely sucessful. The General Manager at my location started the same day as I did on the 1st of May and the Sales Manager only outdates us by a week. Other than that there are only two other people who work out of our store, a Customer Sales Rep and a Driver/Mover who've been there themselves for a only a few months.

The location is only 6 months old and is in a prime location along a main throughfare through Henderson heading into Las Vegas. Yet, the location has gone through staff like Guinness goes through Wyatt Earp!

Such is the transient nature of Las Vegas' employment culture.

As a result, the store ranked at the bottom of every indicator since it's opening in the western sphere of the corporation's national reach.

The GM and I put our heads together and committed to turning that store around- "From Worst to First in 30 Days" was our motto.

Well, the numbers are in... and we're FIRST in revenue in only 30 days in our entire region prompting visits from the Vice President, and next week, the President of the Corporation from Atlanta. How's that for progress?

Is 30 days into a job too early to ask for a raise?
Buwaaahahahah...

Guess they needed the three of you! Hoooah "New Guy!" I was just here and we must have passed in the night. It IS night isn't it? Anyway - I'm here now to leave you some relaxation:

Stumpy's Thoughts on Golf

~ The secret of good golf is to hit the ball hard, straight
and not too often.

~ Many a golfer prefers a golf cart to a caddy because it
cannot count, criticize, or laugh.

~ Golf: A five-mile walk punctuated with disappointments.

~ There's no game like golf. You go out with three friends,
play eighteen holes, and return with three enemies.

(it was in my E-Mail)

Don't ASK - but DISCUSS the pay situation (Boss is also a "new guy")

Be Well - Super Star!
(never could spell)

*laugh* Golf is my most loved and hated sport of all time... all at the same time.

I'll have a job review after the second quarter ends... With the growth this corporation is currently experiencing, they'd be nutz not to offer me a promotion! Or at least I'll make 'em think that hopefully...

Now that my term with my old job has ended (today) I'll have a bit more free time to blow on the internet... YAY!

Way to go Peak. I'm happy for ya. Speaking of golf, you know that golf and sex are the only two activities you don't have to be good at to enjoy. I don't remember who said that, but I am sure they are smarter than me.

I wish you continued success. In golf and bidness.

So with the raise and bonus, you'll be kind enough to purchase my tickets to vegas, right?

heh, that DPT, always got a hand out! HA! J/K killer!

Peaks, Awesome bro!! Way to go!! Keep it up and you'll be living in Atlanta! gotta love the golf though!!! what's the saying?.. bad day golfing is better than sex? wait that can't be right!! Oh yeah, better than a good day at work. Yeah thats it!

You're not buying stuff yourselves, are you? hehe

Good job!

As long as they are not using the principles taught in the book, "How To Make Your Business Look Good" by Ken Lay (or is it ley?)

Go for the raise; I'll give you a letter of recommendation.

fm: how true that statement is...

DPT: just take out a loan, spend just a few bucks on the tix, then put the rest on black at the roulette table and waaalaaa, free trip! ...maybe... I'll let'cha crash with me either way...

Ssss: Atlanta? Never... Lived far too close to that insane city when I lived in Charlotte. The outskirts? possibly...

linda: hey, with a household of 7 we could probably easily support an entire retail chain...

CUG: if I don't get it, can I call on your fellow Union thugs with the Louisville sluggers to negotiate for me? *grin* j/k brah...
