Shedding Some Light?

Glad to see others are learning what I lived for 9 yrs. I am still muslim but no longer part of or have any affiliation with Sheikh Mubarak Ali shah Gilani. I despise his teachings and his wicked ways, they r brain washed into believing that HE visits them spiritually, while all the while he is in pakistan. His followers give up 30% of their earnings to him as he says " its for the sake of God, so give. Indeed if u have ever seen his houses in pakistan you would know where all that 30% money is going.
Is this for real?
It's worth checking out, that's for sure!

It seems that Senior Gilani really is feeling the heat and not only that, has a defector that isn't afraid to tell his side of the story...

Yo, Detective Earp, dude's in your neck o'tha woods who knows muslim drug runners in Philly and NYC... Sick'em!

Thanks to Canadian Sentinel and CP for allowing some breathing room for those who are finally questioning their leader's motivations!

Welcome to Nuevo Mexico...

Here's a great line from a Washington Times Op-Ed:
It was gut-wrenching (which in my case is a substantial event) to watch the senators prattle on in their idle ignorance concerning the manifold economic benefits that will accrue to the body politic if we can just cram a few million more uneducated illegals into the country. ( I guess ignorance loves company.)

Gilani Feeling the Heat

No, this is not the travelling gnome from the travelocity commercials.

This is Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Gilani the Pakistani founder of the terrorist group Jamaat ul-Fuqra.
Jamaat ul-Fuqra (JF) or "community of the impoverished", a terrorist outfit operating in Pakistan and North America, was formed by a Pakistani cleric, Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, in New York in 1980, on his first visit to the US. Mubarak Gilani's intention in forming the outfit was to 'purify' Islam through violence.
Patriots like Baron Bodissey, the Canadian Sentinel, and CP have been on this guy's case for several months now and perhaps he is becoming nervous that his cover is being blown.

The Northeast Intelligence Network is using this information gleaned from great blog sites like those listed above to apply pressure to this sleeper cell that has camps in Binghamton in New York, Badger in California, York in South California and Red House in Virginia... that we know of.

It seems that this newfound exposure on the blogosphere is getting under Gilani's skin. He issued a statement from his headquarters in Lahore, Pakistan.
In this regard I am going to prove that Douglas J. Hagman and his group are the actual perpetrators of international terrorism, and racial and religious bigotry and their ceaseless campaign of hate, is more damaging to the U.S. than any other country. The U.S. has become a pawn of hidden hands that use America’s wealth and the innocent blood of their sons and daughters to wage their wars against Muslims...
If there were a General Patton to fashion a campaign of hate, it would be this guy. Does he really think that we're going to fold up our tents and run away because we're called 'hateful'? Save that rhetoric for the liberals in the state department who cower in fear of the presence of that word, regardless of context.

I do harbor hatred for those who wish harm on this country and this punk-a$$ gnome looking freak is absolutely guilty of that! Read the reports that have been gathered since the early 80's to decide who the architect of hate is here...

The Canadian Sentinel stands up to this punk as well.
Hey, Gilani, we hear this false, inciting rhetoric all the time. You do yourself and Muslims no favors by going around accusing those concerned about the security of their nations from any and all threats of such terrible nonsense. You offer no proof that you're harmless... all the evidence collected so far damns you. So either prove us wrong or shut up and cease all JuF operations. Disband the facilities for once and for all. And I advise that the rhetoric of political correctness will do you no good whatsoever, as I have no respect for the dangerous dogma of political correctness.

We will not be intimidated. We will not cower in fear in the face of any imposing figure like yourself uttering vielled threats. We cannot give in lest the enemies of freedom, democracy and the rule of law become casualties.

You, Sheikh Gilani, brought this investigation upon yourself in the first place. How dare you presume to tell us to ignore all the evidence? And why just blame us civilians? The authorities have been on your case as well. Why not a word about them? Afraid? Why just go after civilians? What are you, a coward?
What are your true intentions?

I stand on guard for thee.
We've got your back brah!
Keep up the great work guys!

Watandost is tracking this future cadaver as well. (In this post too)

My newfound friend United Irelander has found blogging as the ultimate waste of time... as far as changing people's political beliefs- perhaps that is somewhat true (particularly with the stubborn Irish!) I hope posts in this context are evidence of blogging's worth.

In Defense of the Law

My previous post making me out like I'm doing something better because I'm coaching a little league team rather than blogging was quite pretentious.

Throw in the terrible temptation to swing the sticks on TigerWoods '06 when some free time does emerge and there is complete blog neglect. Not to mention the recent visits to Lake Mead to reenergize myself, and burn out the kids...

Truth is, there is a ton of things going on, including the fact that the boys are on 'track break'- 3 weeks off during the Easter season from their year round school schedule.

Oh uhhh... did I say Easter?! That word just may get them kicked out of school in the near future. Now that I think about it, that may be the best thing to happen to them in light of how schools are handling this past week's extracurricular protesting activities that I'm sure the lefty teachers are wholeheartedly encouraging. I'm going to soon have to get some home schooling lessons from Uber stat!

A good blogging friend of mine Terresa Monroe-Hamilton, Parent of a Carson High Student, and excellent blogger behind NoisyRoom.net wrote this to the Nevada Appeal, a publication up in northern Nevada.

In Defense of the Law
Monday 300 students walked out of Carson High classrooms for an unlawful protest march against illegal immigration bills Congress is considering. This delinquency was aided and abetted by the school district, which announced the event over the school loudspeaker, and flyers were circulated throughout the school. Carson Sheriff deputies escorted the protestors all around town, even though they had no parade permit.

I spoke to many people who were outraged as I was, and internet postings showed widespread outrage too. The ethnic-identity hustlers marching in our streets claim this is an issue of race or ethnicity, but it’s not. If you are here illegally, either attain legal resident status or go home. It does not matter what country you hail from – this applies to every immigrant

Our daughter, an American, lives in London while waiting for her Danish husband to get legal status here in the United States. So this is an issue we are intimately familiar with, and our family lives by the laws on this and other issues. If there is any ethnic bigotry in this matter, it lies solely with the lawbreakers in the streets claiming this is an ethnic issue. If they want to find racists and bigots, they should look in a mirror.

No other nation in the world would allow you to illegally remain in their country indefinitely with free healthcare, schooling, paid-for housing and transportation, welfare and social assistance. Yet I know of one individual here in Carson City who has been here almost 20 years working on a green card. We taxpayers subsidize her apartment and help her financially with welfare and other programs. She does not even speak English. She has had four or five children here, and all are now entitled to benefits as well. She has never even applied for citizenship and does not intend to.

This has to stop. The government tells us there are roughly 11-million illegal aliens in the US. The number may be much higher. We are being slowly, systematically invaded, and we have let this happen to us. Protestors waving Mexican flags and screaming “Mexico! Mexico!” streamed by our home yesterday – people who insist that part of the US is still Mexico’s and that Spanish should be spoken by every one.

Get real! You are in our country, and so you need to follow our laws and speak our language, English. When 29% of all criminals in our prisons are illegal aliens, we have a major problem in our country. These protests are also being fueled by lawless radical Mexican gangs and movements. Will we stand idly by and let our country be overrun and watch those who break our laws flaunt them in our face? I for one feel that severe civil unrest could result from this.

And to the politicians out there – the school board and the Carson schools’ administrators – shame on you! You have a bond issue on the ballot this November, and I say: Why should we give you one more penny for you to use to support illegal parades that incite violence and disturb the peace? In defense of the law and the state of Nevada, and knowing that you have willfully, recklessly and incompetently mismanaged everything you’ve touched, I will vote against any further money for your blatantly anti-American agendas.
YEAH Terresa!!

Sheesh do I need any more impetus to pull my kids from school?

A new blogging bud DPGI v.2 trashes the ignorance in a Reno Gazette-Journal piece.

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!

In my time at Syracuse University (which has a fairly large population of Irish- particularly Tipperary Hill- home of the famous 'upside down' traffic light)

We typically awoke on St. Patrick's Day bright and early to get into the bars on Marshall St to partake of the Lucky Charms and Green Beer tradition...

-the soaking of lucky charm cereal in green beer for breakfast?? Who the hell thought of that?!?

It typically resulted in the perverbial 'tossing of the cookies' onto whatever midterm they sadistically scheduled for this day each year. It was always the German professor performing this scheduling sac-relig.

This is where my memories of St. Patrick's Day during my college years ends... with the exception of one...

That was the year we painted ourselves green, dyed our hair green, and went to a David Copperfield show at the Landmark Theater after a long day of *ahem* celebration of Ireland's patron Saint.

We just happen to be sitting a few rows back from the front where Claudia Schiffer was seated. We spent more of the show pledging our undying love for Claudia than we did watching Mr. Copperfield... If he was a REAL magician, I'm sure he would have made US disappear!

Witnesses will testify to the fact that the lovely and talented Claudia did manage to turn her head and smile at us at one point... Really! Ok, so she was Laughing at our drunk green butts...

Man this going no where fast...

I'm off to go hang with da boss at Fadó's...

My wife and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary by going out to an amazing dinner at Hugo's Cellar in the 4 Queens on Freemont St. and then seeing an amazing Irish dance and music group from the Aran Islands- off the west coast of Ireland- called Ragus (rah-goose) at the SunCoast Casino. San Diego Arena Evacuated

UPDATE: (11:30am PST) Cox Arena is now allowing people back into the building... no news on the 'Package' found in the hot dog stand as of yet...
However, the bomb sniffing dog was allegedly seen licking it's chops...

SI provides a few details
The dogs detected the package inside a 4-by-6-inch condiment container in a vendor cart outside Cox Arena at San Diego State University. A bomb robot was sent to the scene, FBI spokeswoman Jan Caldwell said.

The container was removed by police and a bomb squad, said Lorena Nava, a university spokeswoman.

"It was some type of package that was described as looking like a small briefcase or a box," Luque said.
I have a feeling it wasn't a box of mustard packets...

Developing...
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Police evacuated a San Diego college arena on Thursday, hours before a first-round NCAA championship basketball game, after a bomb-sniffing dog signaled a potential problem at a hot dog stand.

Cox Arena at San Diego State University was cleared while police tried to determine if there was an explosive device in the hot dog stand, college spokesman Jack Beresford said.

He said it was not immediately clear how many people were inside the building at the time but that the teams had not yet arrived.

"A bomb-sniffing dog noticed something in a hot dog cart," Beresford said. "They got a hit on something that was in the cart itself.
One of two things occured...

The dog was doing its job, or it was asking for some mustard...
I'll follow up on this as it develops.

Chrys smells the dog meat...

It's About Time!

UPDATE: Click on photo on right to see many many more pictures straight from the frontlines of "Operation Swarmer"! Thanks GunnNutt!!

US Air Power is finally flexing it's muscle to subdue an insurgent stronghold with "Operation Swarmer".
"More than 1,500 Iraqi and Coalition troops, over 200 tactical vehicles, and more than 50 aircraft participated in the operation," the military statement said of the attack designed to "clear a suspected insurgent operating area northeast of Samarra," 60 miles north of Baghdad.

The province is a major part of the so-called Sunni triangle where insurgents have been active since shortly after the U.S.-led invasion three years ago. Saddam Hussein was captured in the province, not far from its capital and his hometown, Tikrit.

Waqas al-Juwanya, a spokesman for Iraq's joint coordination center in nearby Dowr, said "unknown gunmen exist in this area, killing and kidnapping policemen, soldiers and civilians."

Near the end of the first day of the operation, the military said, "a number of enemy weapons caches have been captured, containing artillery shells, explosives, IED-making materials, and military uniforms."
We've been milling around like sitting ducks for too long now. If they want to try and instigate a Civil War- and no doubt the press will portray this as an escalation of a potential civil war rather than what it really is, we'll wipe them out before they can try.

I've been so sick of this tactic of going door to door. If we're going to subdue these insurgents they must be killed, and killed with total force.

Others following this story closely:

All Things Beautiful -has a link to the "National Security Strategy" (PDF file)
Somehow I think the President is trying to tell us something, launching the largest air attack on Iraq in three years, on the same day and almost simultaneously giving the zero tolerance message in the national security report, following along the lines of Israel, against terrorism. Obviously undaunted by the difficult war in Iraq, he reaffirmed today his strike-first policy against terrorists and enemy nations saying that Iran may pose the biggest challenge for America.
See her site for excellent up to the minute coverage.

Stop the ACLU
Good luck to our troops. I’m sure the MSM will try to wrap this into their ever hopeful civil war talk. Hopefully we will catch or kill someone of importance in their chain. Don’t hold your breath for the big fish, I expect to hear the same old…”we missed by a few hours.”

The Dread Pundit Bluto
Samarra is the site of the al-Askariya shrine. The bombing of the shrine touched off a mix of sectarian violence and terrorist activity designed to promote sectarian strife.

8 Years Ago Today

I was pacing back and forth in my 800 sq foot apartment in Albuquerque while four of my good friends from Syracuse were shaking the haze from their hungover brains. I awoke bright and early, bright eyed and bushy tailed, and readied myself long before anyone else was approaching consciousness.

I was dressed in a black tux with white shirt and white bowtie & cumber bun with hours to go before I was to take the woman I was madly in love with as my wife. I had no idea what to do so I began wandering the neighborhood.

I visited the front office of the apartment complex where the mailboxes were to check a mailbox I knew was empty. I stopped in the 7-11 on the corner to buy some gum. I just needed something to do. I was anxious, excited, elated, and running on a seemingly unlimited supply of adrenaline, yet I had several hours to wait. So I walked... er rather, I floated around the neighborhood feeling like a million dollars in my rented tux.

The air was crisp, the sun was rising, and my hopes were soaring. I was soaking in every second of the most important day of my life as a continuous dialogue with God ran through my head thanking Him for this opportunity I was truly undeserving of. Yet every second seemed stretched such that the moment I had been waiting for still seemed years away.

I meandered over to the LDS chapel across the street where I was going to be pledging my life to my sweetheart. I knew she was getting ready to do the same for me, but I just had to sneak up on her. Being separated from her over the previous 24 hours felt like an eternity.

As I wandered around the building peeking into the rooms hoping to get an unauthorized view of my gorgeous bride, I saw members of the church in action setting up for our big day. Having no money, all the decorations, flowers, and food were being donated out of the goodness of the members' hearts to sanction our special day... despite the fact that we were members of the congregation for only a couple of months. When I found the room she was in, I peeked in to see her best friend Jen doing her hair in a sexy up-do... or whatever you women call it when flowing locks of blond hair is raised to expose an irresistibly kissable neck.

When I was busted cheating a peek, screams from the bridesmaids broke the quiet of the room as the door was promptly shut on my face. All I could do was smile from ear to ear. I was immediately ushered out of the building by the smiling members who were perhaps vicariously reliving their own glory days.

That day was a day I had wished for since my adolesence and remains a day that I fondly cherish still. We had a simple and sweet ceremony and were married by the Bishop who was so proud of us that even he had to choke back tears of joy as he joined our hands in a marriage that will persevere throughout all of time and eternity.

8 years later and I feel the same feelings of thankfulness and joy that I had felt then. I was lucky enough to have found the One I had spent what felt like an eternity dreaming of.

Rather than having those feelings fade, they've only grown stronger as now we are in the process of raising 5 precious children.

Sure there are days when I consider it a miracle that there is still hair on my head, yet I wouldn't change shoes with any man on the planet, for anything in the world. I know that I was undeservedly blessed to have found my destiny- and it resides in the tender places of my wife's heart. As long as she is there by my side, there is no adversity too difficult, nor any refuge sweeter.

I love you with every fiber of my being Rhonda...

*raises glass* To the last 8 years... and to the next 80...

I love you baby.

America's Hope

Warning, this is a total swing from the inane topics I usually post about, however, it is something that has stirred in my soul for quite some time and I figured I'd put it down in a post and see what happens. I'm assuming that it will provoke a variety of reactions (thus the name of my site) from those who take the several minutes it will take to wade through this post with me. Grab some coffee, or OJ, get comfy and take this trip with me.

I've been reading a great book by Douglas E. Brinley called America's Hope... Why Every Other Civilization Has Failed and What You Can Do to Save This One

Within the book is delineated 10 Stages in which each former civilization has passed on its way to extinction.

Before I begin I need to make this disclaimer. The information in the Book of Mormon is the major source of historical context that this book bases it's entire premise on, however not the only source. I can hear the polygamy jokes already, but save 'em.

The Book of Mormon is actually the compilation of records left by the ancients of this hemisphere over the last several thousand years. Yes that's right, the ancestors of who we know as the native Americans did in fact leave records for us to recover and to have translated by the power of the Holy Ghost for the purpose of restoring the Gospel in this, the land of Promise, the Americas.

Being the history and anthropology nut I am, I'm satisfied by the empirical evidence modern day research has conducted that verifies the claims made in the Book of Mormon and have by faith accepted those records as Scripture themselves after many readings from cover to cover of this fascinating work.

The Book of Mormon in itself is a book I highly recommend be read by all with an open mind and open heart and a love for history who aren't afraid to believe that there is a Heavenly Father who has and still does reach out to us through particular vessels... ie. The Prophets.

Ok, I know I lost a lot of you but the reason I wanted to write this post is to see where on the scale of those 10 Stages you see modern day America. Not necessarily to preach LDS doctrine. If the mere mention of Mormonism conjures up fear in your hearts that you'll be corrupted by some cultish sac-religion then you really should look at yourself in the mirror a bit more closely and question your ability to achieve clarity.

Ok, on with the Stages...

Stage 1: The Lord Leads the Righteous to the Promised Land

Despite what teachers such as Jay Bennish are teaching in the schools about Columbus's intentions to rape and pillage land, I believe that Columbus instead was inspired by the Holy Ghost to find this land which has become the beacon of hope for the rest of the world... knowingly or not. Just as Adam and Eve were given Paradise in which to begin this Earthly journey of mankind, America has been the modern day Promised Land for the dissemination of the Word of God without fear of reprisals, at least not yet.
Adam and Eve, of course, began the first dispensation. After leaving the Garden of Eden, they settled in the promised land at Adamondi-Ahman (D&C 117:8).

The Jaredites came to these continents under the leadership of Jared and his brother following the tower of Babel episode when God Scattered the people and confounded their language. This righteous colony came by barges to the promised land sometime around 2200 B.C.

Lehi was forced to leave Jerusalem about 600 B.C. because of the wickedness of the Jews who sought to kill him.

The Mulekites, from Mulek the son of the Jewish king Zedekiah and contemporaries of the Lehites, came from Jerusalem when Zedekiah rebelled against Nebuchadnezzar (2 Chronicles 36:11-13). The Babylonian king killed the sons of Zedekiah living in Jerusalem (2 Kings 25:7); however, one of the sons, Mulek, avoided capture and death. The details of how young Mulek escaped, his exact age at the time, how many others were in his party, and how they negotiated the oceans remains unknown.
The Americas have been a land of refuge for the righteous since the beginning of human record keeping... long before 1492.

Stage 2: God Covenants with the Inhabitants of the Land
The second stage actually puts in place the covenant between God and those who reside on the land. Two options are presented to the inhabitants. Either they will serve God and keep His commandments, or they will be swept from the land should their wickedness sink to a certain level of depravity.

The people living in Noah's day undoubtedly were aware of the covenant. The Jaredites were likewise aware of the promises on the land, and the Nephites understood the covenant from Lehi's teachings.

The Lamanites (those we now refer to as the Native Americans) were without the gospel much of the time; like the Gentiles, they were unaware of the covenant on the land. The Lamanites who lived in the northern hemisphere later lost their land to the ever-expanding Gentile population. Sadly, all of these early inhabitants broke their covenant with Deity. The fate of the Gentiles is still in the future.
Stage 3: God Establishes Laws for the Governance of the People
In the third of the ten stages, God raises up wise men for the purpose of codifying and systematizing laws so that people can live in an environment of order and security and be accountable for their agency.
Although the founding Father's faith in Heavenly guidance is completely glossed over in today's history courses, all you have to do is read their writings to see the obvious acknowledgement of the influence of the Supernatural as they shaped the documents that continue to rule our land. The leaders of civilizations past usually benefited initially by this same guidance as documented in Scriptural accounts in the Old and the New Testaments as well as modern day scripture... I would contend that the Founding documents of this country can be considered such.

Stage 4: When Most of the People Choose Evil over Good, the Covenant Is Breached
When people turn from a foundation of God-given or God-inspired laws to support or demand legislation contrary to that which is right and decent, and when the constituents uphold (and even promote) unchristlike [SIC] practices or policies, when they vote for corrupt individuals who seek personal favors at the expense of the innocent or poor, wickedness prevails.
Try and tell me that we're not at least at this stage! Is it possible that Roe vs Wade fall into this category?

Stage 5: The Lord Warns the Inhabitants When They Are in Danger of Being Swept Off
The Lord does not destroy His children until they have been warned multiple times concerning their spiritual laxness. God gives ample warning through His prophets and missionaries when they are in violation of the covenant on the land.
Stage 6: The Inhabitants Respond to the Warnings from God's Servants
If they continue to reject the warnings of God's servants to the point not only of ignoring prophetic counsel but of threatening the lives of those sent to warn them, they set themselves up for divine judgements of war, pestilence, and famine (Alma 10:22-23).
Stage 7: When the People Reject Prophetic Warnings, the Judgements of God Begin

Need I say more?

Stage 8: The Spirit of the Lord Withdraws from the People

In case you were wondering if this has ever happened before, read up on the era known as the Dark Ages... there was a reason why it was considered Dark.
As people continue to reject the warning messages of the Lord's servants, they quickly lose their spiritual bearings. Evil becomes more appealing to them while righteousness becomes too confining. They are unable to discern between good and evil. They call evil good and good evil.
When the reactions I get from this post are from people who are more insulted by this topic or any of the considerations made in this post than they are by the filth that they take in their their sensory organs on a daily basis, I can make a good case that this stage is long past it's infancy. Thankfully I believe that there are more people here in America who still embody the Spirit of the Lord than not... although the momentum of that balance seems to be shifting.

Stage 9: The Inhabitants Become Fully Ripened in Iniquity and Cast Out the Righteous
Each former civilization ripened in iniquity until it was destroyed.
Stage 10: The Wicked Are Destroyed

Believe the stories in the Scriptures or not, all of the story lines concluded the same.
At this point, the land is cursed and the destruction of the inhabitants becomes certain. Though repentance is always open to the people until their fate is sealed, at this point they seldom choose to cease their wickedness. When the spirit of repentance departs, when hearts are hardened, when people are fully ripened in iniquity, they stand condemned before God.
Consider the concepts how you will. Consider them as brainwashing tactics to keep the masses in line if you will. But at least consider them. Read your Scriptures and see what they tell you about yourself, your neighbors, your Spirit. Read your history of mankind through the ages, see the ebb and flow of civilizations' rise and fall.

Even if you consider it hogwash, consider it nonetheless. There's no harm that can come upon you for doing so, in fact if you were to stick to your guns, you would study them even further to bolster your own arguments.

As for me, I know how my Spirit reacts to the words in Scripture and that can only be experienced by me and me alone. I can testify of these impressions and movements inside of me but they can not be tangibly conveyed except only by the will of the Holy Ghost.

I have concern for this Country and for the world. I believe that this nation is to survive until the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, when the work of God will be consummated, when the king of heaven shall descend and put an end to all warfare, evil, and wickedness, and the great work of the Millennium will be underway. The bad news is that the ripening process will continue among the wicked; the good news is that the righteous will become even more committed to the work of God.

Ok, that's it for my preaching and I'm sure some of you are itching to tear me apart for espousing these views... well, just let me know in the comments section. I'm not scared. All I hope is that you just consider the concepts that have been quickly and one dimensionally laid out and speak to me from your heart.

Have a good weekend y'all.

McNamara Dazzles UConn

UPDATE 3/12: Highlights of the Big East Championship game and interview with G-Mac Here.

The improbable story of the Orangemen winning the Big East Tournament came to it's dramatic conclusion last night against Pittsburgh with a 4 point win.
The decision to hand Syracuse senior guard Gerry McNamara the MVP trophy wasn't official until after the Orange's 65-61 victory Saturday night. But the trophy could have been sent out during the game to be engraved. Win or lose, McNamara was the MVP of this thing; and had he not been named so, the Big East should have hired an independent investigator to review the voting.
McNamara is the heart and soul of Syracuse Basketball, perhaps for all time. His gritty effort and determination willed his ailing team to the Championship and leaves no doubt as to their NCAA Tourney bid as they earn the automatic bid for winning in the deepest and most competitive Conference in college basketball.

While I do not harbor too many hopes of Syracuse getting very deep in the Big Dance, it will be safe to say that the 'Cuse will come to play and they will be lead by a point guard with the heart of a champion.

------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE 3/10: (Check out the highlights at this link) G-Mac does it again in the Semi's vs Georgetown!!
"No matter how I was feeling, it didn't matter," McNamara said. "It was time to play."
Nursing a sore groin and after having sat much of the first half watching his team get pushed around by the Hoyas, McNamara put on a show in the second half and again single handedly took the game over when he drained 5 critical three pointers in the second half to keep SU close...

Syracuse beats the Hoyas with only seconds left on the clock, with a beautiful assist from the G man, to get to the Big East Tournament Finals against Pittsburgh tomorrow night.

Gerry McNamara is a stud... I love this game!
------------------------------------------------------------

I know not one person comes to my site to read about Syracuse Basketball but that's not going to stop me from posting about one of my passions.

I grew up in the heart of Syracuse basketball country and even grew up down the street from the Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim. What's transpired over the last 24 hours in the Big East Tournament at the Garden in NYC has been absolutely inspirational.

Gerry McNamara, the undersized asthmatic with a heart larger than the Carrier Dome has almost single handedly assured Syracuse University a spot in this year's Big Dance...

March Madness has begun and Gerry came to play!

After nailing a running three pointer over Cincinnati last night to advance past the first round of the Big East Tournament to keep their NCAA Tourney bid alive for one more game, Syracuse found themselves on the floor against the number one team in the country UConn who's own coach, Jim Calhoun, was inducted alongside Boeheim into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame before this year's season began.

Gerry found himself in the spotlight again- hitting an NBA length 3-pointer to tie the game as the clock ticked down. Syracuse beats the #1 team in the nation and all but cements their bid in the Big Show.

All this after some moronic assistant coaches in the Big East were anonymously quoted in the Syracuse University student paper (The Daily Orange) claiming that McNamara is the most overrated player in the conference.

That was all it took for the usually calm and collected Boeheim to unload as if someone sucker punched one of his own kids.
"Without Gerry McNamara, we wouldn't have won 10 f---ing games this year," Boeheim said of his senior guard, who finished with 17 points on 6-of-17 shooting. "Without him, not 10. We wouldn't even be here to even have a chance to play this game. And everybody's talking to me and writing about Gerry McNamara being overrated? That's the most bulls--- thing I've seen in 30 years."
Go get'em Jimmy...

This is one team that does not need to be provoked before the season ending tournament begins.

Man I love this time of year!!!

G-Mac will go down as one of the most beloved athletes in the rich history of Syracuse collegiate sports...

20,000!!

Absolutely no one is going to care about this but me...

I just hit my 20,000th visit tonight! This may be cause to re-read one of my favorites from my childhood, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne.

Perhaps I'll watch The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms from 1953 featuring the writing of Ray Bradbury.

Or I could cut 20,000 employees from our company a'la Volkswagen... (Wait, there's only like 20 of us... nevermind)

Or I could write a story of someone who lives for 20,000 days! Naaaa... that's been done and it looks pretty lame.

How about recruiting 20,000 Liberty Activists here in Nevada as they are doing in New Hampshire to 'Live Free or Die'?

Now that sounds pretty good... perhaps that could be a mission of Battle Born News!

I got it, I'll spend $20,000 on a new suitcase! That'll be the day...

Considering that the 5 major Nuclear Powers of the world now have at least 20,000 nuclear warheads in their arsenal, my 20,000 visits doesn't seem all significant...

But to the blogger (or random surfer) who landed on my site from Mount Laurel, New Jersey... congrats to ya... gratuitous links coming your way if you identify yourself!

One Brave Woman

If I were ever to give props to Al-Jazeera television, it would be for this video clip... that's assuming that they didn't put a hit out on the woman in this video directly after airing.

Her name is Wafa Sultan and she is one brave lady... here's an excerpt from the video:
Wafa Sultan:
The clash we are witnessing around the world is not a clash of religions, or a clash of civilizations. It is a clash between two opposites, between two eras. It is a clash between a mentality that belongs to the Middle Ages and another mentality that belongs to the 21st century. It is a clash between civilization and backwardness, between the civilized and the primitive, between barbarity and rationality. It is a clash between freedom and oppression, between democracy and dictatorship. It is a clash between human rights, on the one hand, and the violation of these rights, on other hand. It is a clash between those who treat women like beasts, and those who treat them like human beings. What we see today is not a clash of civilizations. Civilizations do not clash, but compete.

Host:
I understand from your words that what is happening today is a clash between the culture of the West, and the backwardness and ignorance of the Muslims?

Wafa Sultan:
Yes, that is what I mean.
Awww yeah, tell it like it is... just be sure and watch your back!

Try and watch the whole video if you can, especially when she backhands some idiot Islamo-fascist in the studio who starts foaming at the mouth at her words.

Much thanks to Chrys at Pettifog for emailing me this link that she found at Woman Honor Thyself.

Hump Day Humor

Ok so Ssssteve is layin a guilt trip on me for having too much fun with Tiger Woods '06 and not posting enough. So in the lazy spirit of my last two posts, I'll just pass along some funny linkage.

Oh, and can someone please explain what the freak 'Hump Day' is exactly? Cuz it sure doesn't seem to manifest itself as advertised...

No one finds the funniest links quite like my Texan Rooster Cashews... if you haven't been there, do some exploring, he finds some crazy stuff.

Terresa over at NoisyRoom.net got me laughing at the krauts this morning with this post... Un-pimp your auto... Vee Dub style.

Next is my man Ssssteve, Mr. First with Flair...
He explains how you know you're living in the year 2006.

Dr. Phat Tony has the knife dangling dangerously close to Jill's throat... What's that? $15,993 left to go? Uhh, good luck with that... I'll send ya a 5'er to chip in for the Cattleman's BBQ sauce to baste that tender sweet lil beauty in.

Now that there are no more Olympic beauties to post about, or hockey matches to get spanked in... What's Wyatt going to be up to next? Hopefully crackin the skulls of some Philly criminals and interrogating them Jack Bauer style to get leads on Philly's star pimps.

Speaking of Jack Bauer, Jimmyb posts some 24 Fun Facts!

Meanwhile my mentor Insolublog roasts the lefties as they prepare to bamboozle us idiot voters this fall... Man does election time get better and better every season or what!

A while back Tyler at 45 Caliber Justice had this post exploring whether or not Hell is exothermic or endothermic... hell would have frozen over long before I could have figured it out.

How's that for lazy?

I'm really feelin the Love

Ok, despite my last post's pretentious view of the hormonal woman, I'm so very thankful to be of the married class of American men... because having to run the gauntlet of the single life nowadays would be absolutely maddening... especially here in Las Vegas where money talks and BS walks.

One of my buds, Jared, who's single and moved here (Las Vegas) from Albuquerque to help us with our business sent me this... and I have the feeling he's heard these from chicks he's struck-out on at the bars here.

Man: "Haven't we met before?"
Woman: "Perhaps. I'm the receptionist at the VD Clinic."

Man: "Haven't I seen you someplace before?
Woman: "Yeah, that's why I don't go there anymore."

Man: "Is this seat empty?"
Woman: "Yes, and this one will be too if you sit down."

Man: "So, wanna go back to my place ?"
Woman: "Well, I don't know. Will two people fit under a rock?"

Man: "Your place or mine?"
Woman: "Both. You go to yours and I'll go to mine."

Man: "I'd like to call you. What's your number?"
Woman: "It's in the phone book."

Man: "But I don't know your name."
Woman: "That's in the phone book too."

Man: "So what do you do for a living?"
Woman: "I'm a female impersonator."

Man: "Hey, baby, what's your sign?"
Woman: "Do not Enter"

Man: "How do you like your eggs in the morning?"
Woman: "Unfertilized !"

Man: "Hey, come on, we're both here at this bar for the same reason"
Woman: "Yeah! Let's pick up some chicks!"

Man: "I know how to please a woman."
Woman: "Then please leave me alone."

Man: "I want to give myself to you."
Woman: "Sorry, I don't accept cheap gifts."

Man: "If I could see you naked, I'd die happy:
Woman: "Yeah, but if I saw you naked, I'd probably die laughing".

Man: "Your body is like a temple."
Woman: "Sorry, there are no services today."

Man: "I'd go through anything for you."
Woman: "Good! Let's start with your bank account."

Man: "I would go to the end of the world for you.
Woman: "Yes, but would you stay there?
Yikes, good luck to ya Jared... you're gonna need it!

A Subtle Message from my Beautiful Wife

This needs no introduction. It's simply titled Hormones and my wife left it in my email this afternoon... I'm beginning to fear for my life. If you do not hear from me in a week, I'm sure you'll piece together a possible scenario.

Well, here goes:
Hormones

The Hormone Hostage knows that there are days in the month when all a man has to do is open his mouth and he takes his very life into his own hands!

This is a handy guide that should be as common as a driver's license in the wallet of every husband, boyfriend, or significant other!!

DANGEROUS: What's for dinner?
SAFER: Can I help you with dinner?
SAFEST: Where would you like to go for dinner?
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.

DANGEROUS: Are you wearing that?
SAFER: Gee, you look good in brown.
SAFEST: WOW! Look at you!
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.

DANGEROUS: What are you so worked up about?
SAFER: What did I do wrong?
SAFEST: Here's fifty dollars.
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.

DANGEROUS: Should you be eating that?
SAFER: You know, there are a lot of apples left.
SAFEST: Can I get you a glass of wine with that?
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.

DANGEROUS: What did you do all day?
SAFER: I hope you didn't overdo it today.
SAFEST: I've always loved you in that robe!
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some more chocolate.

Things PMS Stands For:

2. Psychotic Mood Shift
3. Perpetual Munching Spree
4. Puffy Mid-Section
5. People Make me Sick
6. Provide Me with Sweets
7. Pardon My Sobbing

9. Pass My Sweatpants
10. Pissy Mood Syndrome
11. Plainly; Men Suck
12. Pack My Stuff......

..And my favorite one...

13. Potential Murder Suspect

Another thing to giggle about... My husband, not happy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day so he would be able to monitor my moods. When I'm in a good mood, it turns green. When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big red mark on his forehead. Maybe next time he'll buy me diamonds.

Here have some chocolate.
Wish me Luck this week!

Public School Preoccupations

If I get the time to finish up what little school I have left to become a teacher in either Biology or Math I know it will be much easier to monitor what my kids are actually learning in school.

Mark of Liberty Just in Case posts "Do you Want this in Your School?
AURORA - A 16-year-old boy at Overland High School doesn't want to hear what he calls his teacher's left-wing political rants.
Hear his recording here. If you can stomach being preached to by a shrill voiced liberal teacher who definitely drinks way too much coffee.

Just past halfway through the recording you'll hear Sean Allen (the student who made the recording) confront his teacher on several points only to be run over by left wing rants justifying why we were attacked on 9/11.

Nice work Sean, just do what you have to do to get your grade then run like hell.

Lo and behold, there's an ACLU lawyer on the case...

Uber appropriately shreds this "teacher" too...

Michelle Malkin typed out most of the audio recording.

Rocky Mountain News reports:
An Overland High School geography teacher was put on leave Wednesday while Cherry Creek Schools investigates whether he violated district policy that requires balanced viewpoints in the classroom.

Jay Bennish, who teaches 10th grade world geography, is being investigated for making biased, anti-President Bush comments in class during a discussion of the State of the Union speech last month.

"These are serious allegations and we're very concerned about it," said Tustin Amole, spokeswoman for Cherry Creek Schools. "This does not reflect the type of teaching that we want to see in Cherry Creek school district."
The Denver Post writes this up too, with a picture of Sean Allen doing radio interviews.

Check out Slapstick Politics and their awesome coverage.

Meanwhile, in an Illinois school system we have this:
On Tuesday, February 28, Planned Parenthood of Illinois, ACLU-Illinois and other left-wing groups are planning a massive Lobby Day in Springfield for what they are calling "age appropriate," "comprehensive" sex ed in schools.

Would you trust Planned Parenthood- the Abortion Inc., of the United States- and the ACLU- which has defended the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA)- to decide what are "age appropriate" teachings on sex for your children? Concerned parents must not allow this blank check to condom-based education in Illinois to pass. Illinois students and teens deserve better!
Here is what they consider to be 'age appropriate' curriculum:
Focus on Kids (ages 9-15)- Youth will practice the proper way to put on a condom. Divide youth into two teams and give everyone a condom. Have the teams stand in two lines and give the first person in each line a dildo or cucumber. Each person on the team must put the condom on the dildo or cucumber and take it off. The team that finishes first wins.

Becoming a Responsible Teen (ages 14-18)- Sometimes people don't have a water-based lubricant handy. If you were trying to find something around the house, or at a convenience store, to use as a substitute what would be safe? Some grocery store lubricants are safe to use if they do not contain oil: GRAPE JELLY, maple syrup, and honey.
Do they actually think that this is appropriate at all?? Let alone 'age appropriate'?? If I find a teacher waving a dildo around in his classroom full of kids, I'll find a nice dark place to permanently lodge that dildo... Arrrrrggggghhhhhh....
